Rat image courtesy of :http://www.fun4biz.com/imgbrowser/viewInWin/id/447/size/l | It's official. We are at war. We have been ignoring the takeover for some time, hoping it would disappear. But despite our longings and hopes, the smell coming from above our entrance way is not magically disappearing. We have heard scritching sounds and are girding our loins. To you left see the vile rat. This is an actual picture of our rat. (well...) I'm sure it's what our rat(s) look like. We all are faced with needing some renovating from time to time. Things within ourselves grow smelly and can be ignored for a while. But eventually, we know we need to do some work on ourselves. Dealing with our house's smell involved getting prepared. We donned masks, gloves and hats, anticipating the worst. We prepared emotionally for whatever we found. We (I say we, but my husband was the doer of the deed.) tore apart our beautiful-looking ceiling and dragged out the smelly pink insulation. When we face our own smelliness, we too need to prepare ourselves, be prepared to deal honestly with some gross stuff and pull it apart before we can begin the rebuilding. Is it time to do some renovation? It will get messier before it gets better, but I look forward to an entrance that not only looks good on the outside, but is cleansed to the core. |
